Unit 2 Writing

You are what you eat.

Directions: 1) Some people say you are what you eat. In other words, many people believe that Chinese culinary customs have a certain influence on the character of the Chinese people, French culinary customs have a certain influence on the character of the French people, and so on. Do you agree or not? Write a passage titled “You are what you eat.”

2) Your article could be as long as you want. Originality in your article will be highly valued. 3) Print your article and hand it on Friday this week when we have class. I will have all of your passages collected, but I will just mark half of them.

Suggested steps for your writing:

1) Write your first draft with your computer.

2) Proofread your first draft carefully for spelling, punctuation, missing or duplicated words. 3) Print your article for group editing and proofreading.

4) The whole group can find some time convenient for each member to meet and read each

other’s article carefully. Try to improve your article together. 5) Have your second draft ready by yourself. 6) Print it and hand it in as required..
