Good morning, distinguished judges, I’m examinee NO.X. It’s a great privilege for me to introduce myself to you here and share my lessons with you. I have been ready to begin this representation with six parts as following: Analysis of the teaching material and the target students, teaching aims, teaching methods, teaching procedure and blackboard design.

Now, let me interpret the first part--- analysis of the teaching materials Today I will interpret unit1 from grade 8 “how often do you exercise?” Status and function:

By studying this unit, we’ll enable students to know how to use frequency adverb and phrases properly; meanwhile, we will help Ss describe their activities after school. Because it is relevant closely to daily life, I am sure Ss will benefit a lot from this unit. According to English curriculum standard, the whole unit is divided into two sections, section A helps Ss master basic English knowledge while section B focuses on the application of general English learning. And my presentation focuses on section A Important and difficult points:

Grasp the sentence pattern: what do you usually do on weekend? I often go to movies. Distinguish various frequency adverbs. Second part: analysis of target students

As students are the subjects of class, teachers are only assistants, so it is essential to emphasize students’ subjectivity on class. Since my teaching objects are junior two, they have already cultivated English learning interests during their first year learning, all I need to do is to enhance their capability of listening, speaking, reading, utilizing new words and expressions as well as writing. During their learning process, I believe interest is the best teacher, so I will try my best to help Ss figure out answers by themselves and wish they would obtain knowledge through a relaxing way. . Third part: teaching aims.

According to the teaching material and the new curriculum of English, in order to fulfill the learning task of this lesson, I establish the following objectives:

Knowledge objectives: help Ss grasp the usage of these important words and phrases, such as: always, often sometimes, seldom, never, etc. go shopping, watch TV… and be familiar with this sentence pattern: What do you usually do on weekends? I often go to the movies.

What does she do on weekends ? She often goes to the movies. Ability objectives: help Ss arrange their activities after school

Emotion objectives: foster the ability of cooperation between students and enhance their awareness of being healthy.

That’s all for my understanding of the teaching materials, target students and teaching aims.

The fourth part: teaching method

Frankly speaking, I adopt task-based language teaching and communicative approach in my class. As for learning, Ss will learn through independent reading, discussing and cooperating.

I will use computer, cards and blackboard as my teaching aids.

Fifth part: Teaching procedure

Here comes the most important part, the teaching procedure. It includes 5 steps: Step I: warming up and lead in Step II: pattern drill and dialogue, Step III: Presentation and drill, Step IV: Practice and drill, Step V: Homework. Step 1: warming-up and lead in (7mins)

Now let’s come to the first step. There are two activities in this step and I will spend 7mins on them.

Activity 1 Warm-up(3 mins)

(1) Do it (学生按教师的指令做动作) Do what I say

T:Read books. / Do homework!/ Draw pictures/ Look at the blackboard T: run / stop / stand up / sit down.

(2) Do as I do.(学生跟老师边说边做动作)Do it together I read books on weekends. I watch TV on weekends. I go shopping on weekends

Activity 2 Revision and presentation(4 mins) (1)教师问:“What do you usually do on weekends ? ” (并且板书)让学生根据自己的实际回答 I usually …… on weekends. (2)教师出示动词卡片 watch TV、read books 、exercise 、clean、skateboard、 play basketball、wash clothes、go shopping、 go to the movies让学生认读。 Step 2: Pattern drill and dialogue(10 mins)

(1)出示词汇卡片给学生,并提问:“What do you usually do on weekends?” 引导学生回答: I usually …… on weekends.( show some cards to students and pick up someone to answer )(3 mins)

(2)Task one “Find my group members.”( four Ss in group)

在规定 时间内( 2mins)填完活动表格,再向周围同学开始询问,找出与自己课外活动大致相同的同学请他或她在每项活动后面签名。(ask Ss to finish the form and find the members who have the similar activities with them in the given time.) Name Activity Time (3) ask group leader to summarize their activities after school .For example: lily and I watch TV on weekends, Tom and Rose doesn’t read book on Friday, etc. Step 3 Presentation and drill (15 mins)

(1)教师指着屏幕说:“ Now let’s see my activities on weekends. 屏幕上出现各项活动的图片并介绍。 I always read books at 6:00 in the morning. Then I usually run at 6:30. I often clean my house in the afternoon. Sometimes I watch TV, but I never watch TV too much. I hardly ever go to the movies. (2)点击鼠标屏幕上出现频率副词及相关的百分比。 always(100%) usually(80%) often (30-50%) sometimes(20%) hardly ever(5%) never(0%) 领读频率副词,让学生快速认读。

(3)分别点击活动图片,每个图片正面出现一个频率副词。 教师依次提问: What do you do on weekends?

引导学生用图片中的活动及副词回答,如:I usually run. Step 4 Practice and drill (12 mins)

(1)Play the recording the first time .Students only listen . Play the recording a second time. Then Point to the pictures and say, Listen to the conversation and write the letter of one activity (a through e) after the word in the list .(1b) (2) 屏幕上出现一张一个男孩读书的图片,教师提问: What does he do on weekends?

再点击图片出现副词often 引导学生回答 He often reads books. (3) 点击屏幕出现 A:What do you do on weekends? B: I often read books. C: What does he do? D: He often reads books/

(4) Task three: Do a survey “What does she /he do on weekends?”

Step 5 Homework (1 min)

(1)Make a conversation “What do you usually do after school?” in groups. (2) Finish task 3 and write a summary.

There is a title on the top and useful phrases and sentence pattern will be on the left while activities we are going to finish will be on the right.
