摘要：The disclosed arrangement simulates the flow of control of an applicationprogram targeted for a specific instruction set of a specific processor by using asimulator running on a second processing system having a second processor with adifferent instruction set. The simulator reduces the number of translated instructionsneeded to simulate the flow of control of the first processor instructions. A three tierapproach is used to translate the address of the next executable instruction resultingfrom a dynamic transfer of control, i.e., resulting from a return instruction. Theperformance of the simulator is enhanced by using the easiest approaches first in thechance that a translated instruction will result most efficiently.
