My Experience in Harbin, Heilongjiang。
I had the pleasure of visiting Harbin, the capital city of Heilongjiang province in China, for a week during the winter season. Harbin is famous for its ice and snow sculptures and is often referred to as the \"Ice City.\" My experience in Harbin was unforgettable, and I would like to share it with you.
Firstly, the weather was extremely cold. The temperature dropped to -25°C on some days, and I had to wear several layers of clothing to keep warm. However, the cold weather was also what made Harbin so special. The city was covered in snow, and the frozen Songhua River was transformed into an ice playground. I had the chance to go ice skating, ice fishing, and even ride on a horse-drawn sled.
Secondly, the ice and snow sculptures were breathtaking.
The Harbin International Ice and Snow Sculpture Festival is held annually from late December to early February, and it is the largest ice and snow festival in the world. The sculptures were intricate and detailed, and some were even illuminated at night. I was amazed by the creativity and skill of the sculptors.
Thirdly, the food in Harbin was delicious. Harbin cuisine is known for its hearty and warming dishes, perfect for the cold weather. I tried the famous Harbin-style smoked sausage, which was savory and spicy, and the borscht soup, which was made with pickled cabbage and beef. I also had the chance to try ice cream made from snow, which was a unique and refreshing experience.
Lastly, the people in Harbin were friendly and welcoming. Despite the language barrier, I was able to communicate with the locals and learn about their culture. They were proud of their city and eager to share their traditions with me. I even had the opportunity to attend a traditional Chinese New Year's Eve dinner with a local family, which was a heartwarming experience.
In conclusion, my experience in Harbin was one of the most memorable trips I have ever taken. The cold weather, stunning ice and snow sculptures, delicious food, and friendly people made it a trip of a lifetime. I would highly recommend visiting Harbin to anyone who wants to experience the magic of winter.
