(1)Based on the development and the constrction practice of suspension bridge at home and abroad , this paper introduces the structure forms and characteristics of suspension bridge, and figures out possible structure and development tendency of cable and stiffening girder in the future.
(2)In this paper, the suspension bridge calculation theory is systematically presented. including early suspension bridge theory , elastic theory,deflection theory and finite displacement theory currently used. The dynamic theory and research actualities of suspension bridge are worked out, providing theoretical basis for the static and dynamic behaviors analysis of suspension bridge.
(3)Through establishing the dimensional model of suspension bridge by finite elements software,calculation and analysis of the geometrical shape parameters (span ratio,height of stiffening girder and Pylon) sectional characteristic parameters (flexural rigidity of stiffening girder, axial tensile stiffness of cable, lexural rigidity of pylon and constant loads mass degree) are made for the static behaviors influence of suspension bridge.
(4)The static performance comparison is made between new materials CFRP cable and steel cable, and the development trend of the CFRP in suspension bridge is introduced.
(5)The parameters influence of the suspension bridge in the area of dynamic performance is investigated including stiffening girder cable ,sling and pylon .The design parameters conducive to structure summarized,providing some reference for long–span suspension bridge design.
Finally, the main work of this paper is summarized and prospects of the research in this field are presented.
