英语口语演讲稿

Good morning, every one. I am 。。。。It‘s my honor to stand here to give you my speech and share my idea. When I saw the topic a word that has changed the world, I just thought of the word---technology.

Today we no longer amaze at telephones, computers, Internet, or cars, all of which are now indispensable to our life. Technology plays a significant part in people's daily lives. We use technology to develop economy, enhance the living standard and quicken the pace of development. If you compare the life of people today with that in the past, it is easy to see that technology has done a great deal to improve the quality of people's lives. For instance, with the invention of high-speed rail and aviation, people all over the world are able to reach their destinations more quickly, which shortens the distance between them. With the help of media, people now can stay at home to get themselves informed of both domestic and international news.

However, technology is not always a positive force in modern society. Actually, it’s a double-edged sword. If it‘s not used in the right way, it may be harmful and even dangerous to people. Now technology crimes are very common. For example, as a result of advanced technology, computer virus has been made by some spiteful people with personal purposes or political intentions, and obviously everyone knows what harm they do. What's more, the nuclear bomb threatens our human’s existence. The fakes like water-injected meat and poisonous rice made by hi-tech damage our health. All of these have been having great impact on people’s life style and safety consciousness.
